Supported Employment & Education Specialist

Responsible for procurement and maintenance of community-based employment for Early Treatment Program participants: including marketing of program to community employers, providing support to members on and off the job site, service coordination and communication between members of the Treatment Team, the Social Security Administration, and the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. Services are provided in accordance with accepted standards of professional practice and policies and procedures of HBH while assuring that the program operates within the guidelines established by the Navigate Model, CARF, and Department of Children and Families/BHCC in a manner that is consistent with HBH mission, vision, and values. This is a 100% direct service position that could require availability to work irregular hours, including evenings, overnights, and weekends. One year variety of life and work experiences working with both young adults and adults, preferably with mental illnesses and providing employment services, and knowledge of the work world are preferred. Previous experience as an employment specialist assisting participants with mental illness in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment is desired. Additionally, experience in the mental health and/or substance abuse arena is preferred. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, Human Services or related field. Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling education, mental health counseling, or related field; preferred. Experience with computer technology (using a computer & PC software to support activities; Windows based programs, e-mail, especially Microsoft Office applications, keyboarding skills, printer, calculator, fax machine, MFP, copier) and other office tools efficiently in order to meet performance goals necessary to the position.
