Counselor – Parents and Children Together (PACT)

We are seeking a master’s level preferred or bachelor’s level counselor with significant experience and clinical education to provide therapeutic and skills-based teaching services to families in Broward County. The ideal candidate is passionate and motivated about helping others. PACT counselors shall use the Parents and Children Together (PACT) Model, which is a prevention/early intervention program that provides in-home counseling, skill building, and support to at-risk families with children aged 0 – 17. This program is based on the HOMEBUILDERS model of family preservation, and uses strategies such as motivational interviewing, cognitive and behavioral interventions, and safety planning. Services shall include weekly 1.5-to-2-hour, in-home sessions for approximately 12 to 14 weeks. The program is designed to keep children safe while helping the family reach a level of functioning at which it is possible for their children to remain safely at home. The PACT counselor will focus specifically on addressing those issues most related to the threat of placement, and helping families access any needed ongoing services and supports. Creole or Spanish speaking counselors are highly encouraged to apply.
