Hollywood, Florida. (May, 2024) – Henderson Behavioral Health recently received a $15,000 grant from Publix Super Markets Charities for their Chalet Apartments that houses formerly homeless individuals with a serious mental illness. Henderson opened the program over 20 years ago and has housed over 300 people during that time, of which 10 have been housed since its’ opening. “Henderson is a large housing system offering an array of housing options for individuals living with mental health conditions, said Dr. Steven Ronik, Henderson CEO, and we believe that everyone deserves decent, safe, and affordable housing.”
The grant was used to provide furnishings and a new, more efficient, central air conditioning unit to replace aging AC window units.
“Publix Super Markets Charities has been a long-standing partner with Henderson Behavioral Health and we are truly grateful for the help they provide our patients and our community, said Ronik, and we look forward to continuing this important collaboration.”
