Psychosocial Counselor

Psychosocial Rehabilitation Counselors provide rehabilitation and therapeutic care services within the role recovery framework and treats program participants with mental or emotional disorders by teaching them to function within their community. Treatment can address relationships with family, friends, and co-workers and often helps patients work toward living independently. They assess a participant’s current condition and level of social functionality then develops a treatment plan that helps a participant learn skill sets needed for independent living. Certified Recovery Peer Specialist, Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner, Certified Recovery Support Specialist, Certified Behavioral Health Technician or a Substance Abuse Technician or a Certified Additions Professional with minimum 1 year experience; or a Bachelors from accredited university in related field, preferred.
