FITT Peer Support Specialist provides peer coaching & support service to help parents who are at risk of having or have had their child(ren) removed due to substance misuse. They work together as a team with a therapist & case manager to promote the parent/caregiver’s recovery and assist them in working toward their dependency case plan goals for reunification or to maintain their child(ren) in the home. FITT Peers use their lived experience & skills learned to help others achieve & maintain recovery and wellness from substance use while also improving their parenting skills and caregiver protective capacities. HS diploma or GED required and MUST have personal lived experience either: an adult in recovery for a minimum of 2 years from a mental health and/or substance use condition or a family member or caregiver to another person who is living with a mental health and/or substance use condition. A valid Florida driver’s license and auto liability insurance are required.
