This position requires a minimum High School diploma or equivalent; bachelors preferred. The candidate should have experience working with: the adult population (with mental illness and/or substance use) in a residential setting; as well as the forensic population. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the behavioral health technician provides clinical support services including supportive counseling, crisis intervention and works as part of a team to ensure a safe, supportive environment to adults experiencing situational or psychiatric crisis; with wide range of emotional disorders, and/or substance use problems. Interacts with clients and assists them with activities of daily living, social recreation, & program activities. Supervises clients during meals & snacks, maintains client and unit safety, monitors client behavior, and assists with admission and discharge process.
