This position requires Master’s in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or related field; 3+ years’ experience in child welfare/substance use. Ideal candidate must have considerable Knowledge of the characteristics and problems of adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses as well as signs and symptoms of substance abuse issues. Responsible for staff support, documentation review, training, and direct family support when needed. Experience and/or ability to work with electronic medical records is required. Have working knowledge of the American Psychological Association’s current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, mental illness, its etiology, and its treatment; of human behavior and of supportive counseling and active listening techniques; the principles and practices of mental health counseling and crisis intervention; of behavioral management; experience with Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, CBT; the Florida Mental Health Act, and local resources. Must possess a valid FL driver’s license and insurance.
