Psychosocial Rehabilitation Counselor

Psychosocial Rehabilitation Counselors provide rehabilitation and therapeutic care services within the role recovery framework and treats program participants with mental or emotional disorders by teaching them to function within their community. Treatment can address relationships with family, friends, and co-workers and often helps patients work toward living independently. They assess a participant’s current condition and level of social functionality. Then, they develop a treatment plan that helps a participant learn skill sets needed for independent living. Counselors may utilize medication and individual supportive or group counseling, and they may provide assistance with job training, housing needs, social rehabilitation, basic living skills, and family support issues. Transport participant as necessary and maintain Henderson vehicle/property. Maintain records in compliance with all required standards. The incumbent will function as a team member in providing treatment, monitor participants’ progress, help them achieve their social integration goals, and intervene in crisis situations. Services are provided in accordance with accepted standards of professional practice and policies and procedures of HBH while assuring that the department operates within the guidelines established by CARF and funders in a manner that is consistent with HBH mission, vision and values. This is a 100% direct service position that requires the employee to work regular part-time or full-time hours.
