The position requires a minimum of high school degree or equivalent. Some college is preferred. The paraprofessional may have a bachelors degree in a field other than behavioral sciences or minimum of a high school diploma. Candidates should be a certified peer specialist or in high-fidelity wraparound; or must obtain certification at the end of twelve (12) months of employment. Candidate must have experience in recovery from either mental illness or substance abuse or someone who has raised a child or youth with complex emotional needs and have experience by being a past recipient of public or private behavioral care services. Experience with individuals with mental illness or similar human-services needs, or other applicable experience is desired. Previous experience in case management, advocacy or similar role is desirable. Experience with computer technology is required for this position. Candidate must possess a valid Florida driver’s license (with a clean record) and must provide proof of auto insurance coverage in the amount of $50,000/$100,000/$50,000 for liability.
