Lead Behavioral Health Technician

This position requires a minimum High School diploma or equivalent; bachelors preferred. Minimum two years of concentrated practice in the mental health or substance abuse residential and/or crisis stabilization facility, work experience with adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses or similar human-services needs. Provide guidance to mental health technicians, students, and volunteers. Responsible for scheduling staff work hours to assure appropriate coverage for day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts and on-call hours. Review and authorize timesheets and leave requests within scheduled time periods. Participate in orientation of new staff, work assignments, retention, evaluation, and personal actions of staff in coordination with the Human Resource Department, according to work rules, regulations, and policies. Work will be performed in a Baker Act/Marchman Act facility. Work areas are often noisy, irregular, and unpredictable and can be stressful at times. Clients demonstrate varying levels of recovery and symptoms. This is a 85% direct service position that could require availability to work irregular hours, including evenings, overnights, and weekends.
