This position requires a Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling education, mental health counseling or related field. Licensed in the state of Florida (LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT) preferred. If licensed, applicant must maintain Florida state license in good standing or be a Registered Intern in the state of Florida. Candidate should have one (1) year of post-graduate practice, heavily concentrated in the the mental health field, work experience with adults with mental illnesses or with individuals with similar human-services needs. Additionally, experience in the mental health and/or substance abuse arena is preferred. Candidate should have working knowledge of the American Psychological Association’s current diagnostic and statistical manual, the principles and practices of mental health counseling and crisis intervention, the Florida Mental Health Act, local resources, signs and symptoms of substance abuse and basic psychotropic medications; and therapeutic techniques.
