Health Information Specialist / Medical Records

The health information specialist performs duties pertaining to the care and distribution of the medical record. Provides secretarial and medical records service to the clients and staff, completes request/releases of client records, distribution/release of medical records and other services as needed for this position. Updates and enters practitioner information and reviews and distributes incoming faxes/mail. This position reports directly to the Office Manager. Has frequent contact with most levels of management/staff and daily contact with psychiatrists, case managers, therapists, consumers, consumer family members, legal guardians, and administrative staff.
