The Benefits Acquisition Specialist performs coordinated screening and assessment of the benefit needs of the individual. This service is focused on utilizing the SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery (SOAR) Model which dramatically expedites the SSI/SSDI application process and reduces the disability determination period. This position requires that the candidate possess a Minimum of a Bachelors degree (other commensurate experience or training may be substituted). Preferably a minimum of one (1) year experience concentrated in the mental health field. Work experience with adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses or with individuals with similar human-services needs as an agency case manager desired. Previous experience in discharge planning, utilization review, case management, or similar role desirable. Knowledge of the SOAR process extremely desirable and strongly preferred. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance of 50,000/100,000/50,000 required.
