The Behavioral Health Consultant will consult and collaborate with the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) investigative staff to assist families that have been identified to possibly require safety management services. This position will provide consultation and training for CPI staff on behavioral health conditions, supports and services. BHC will be co-located at BSO with investigative staff. The position requires candidate have a minimum of a masters degree in a human services field. Florida Licensure is preferred. Candidate should also have a minimum of (5) five years’ experience in the behavioral health field with knowledge of child welfare. Good writing and organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, culturally sensitive, experience working with children and adults with behavioral health issues are required. Candidate should also have an understanding of Florida’s Child Welfare Practice Model. Have a working knowledge of community mental health and substance abuse provides. Be able to work independently with competent decision-making skills utilizing established criteria and guidelines. Candidate is also required to possess a valid Florida drivers license along with proof of appropriate automobile insurance coverage in the amount of at least 50,000/100,000/50,0000 for liability limits.
